ABEN Technical Services is a NATA accredited laboratory providing Non Destructive Testing services (NDT) performed by our experienced Technicians (Level 2) in-conjunction with technical support from our Technologists (Level 3) who are also available to perform hands on Testing, Write Procedures, Audit Tests and Manage NDT on Projects - Shutdowns.

Our Non Destructive Testing personnel are Certified to the following schemes,
  • AINDT AS3998 / ISO9712  Level I, II or III and /or
  • PCN EN473/ISO9712 Level II and / or
  • NAS410 Level II or III and / or
  • ASNT SNT-TC-1A / ANSI CP105 & CP189 Level I, II or III written pratice.

We offer NDT services in

  • Eddy current testing of tubes, welds, bolt holes, gears and material sorting
  • Ultrasonic testing of welds, castings, forgings and thickness mapping / survey.  
  • Surface inspection techniques using Magnetic Particle and Penetrant,
  • Visual and Remote Visual techniques with fibrescopes and CCTV camera equipment capable of 1000 metres in sea water.
  • Radiography of welds, castings, thickness profile and other metal components.
  • Vacuum box testing of tank floor bottoms and floor to shell seams.

We offer Advanced NDT methods in

  • Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing of welds, forgings and corrosion assessments.
  • Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) of tank floors and roof plates
  • IRIS / Eddy Current / MFL & RFEC of tubes and piping.
  • Pipe wall profiling and thickness assessments using Digital Radiography.
