ABEN Technical Services provides NDT Training and Level 3 Services to industry and laboratories of clients.

 

NDT TRAINING

 

We provide General NDT Training to organisations who require Management, Engineers, Supervisors, Trades people and Inspectors to have and understanding of methods and tests.

Current NDT Training and Mentoring includes

• Requesting NDT and method selection
• Ultrasonic testing of welds, castings, forgings and rolled products
• Phased array testing of welds and castings
• Eddy current testing of welds
• Magnetic particle testing of welds, castings, forgings and rolled products
• Penetrant testing of welds, castings, forgings and rolled products
• Radiography interpretation

A dedicated training facility has been established at our Brooklyn Workshop or alternatively we can provide training at your facility or on-site. The NDT training services we provide allow organisations to have their workshop / engineering staff trained and examined for their own internal testing requirements.

Note –We are not an AINDT Authorised Qualifying Board training facility.

 

TEST SAMPLE (HIRE)

 

We have a large range of test samples with known defects available for hire to allow laboratories to perform internal proficiency testing or training of their personnel.

Test samples include

• Welded plate, t-sections and pipe in carbon and duplex steels.
• Castings in steel and stainless steel
• Forgings in steel
• Corroded samples

NDT LEVEL 3 SERVICES

 

Our Level 3 staff are ISO9712 Certified and SNT-TC-1A certified and provide Client Laboratories ISO17025 & ISO17020 Accreditation support. Services have been provided or are currently provide to a multitude of industries including

• Pressure Vessel and Cylinder Manufacturing industry.
• Marine Manufacturing & Servicing industry.
• Lifting Equipment industry.
• Foundry and Forging industry.
• Rail Manufacturing and Service industry.

We provide compliant development of ISO17020 and ISO 17025 Laboratory Quality Management systems that meet the requirements or NATA or other Certification Organisations. Technical Procedures and Documentation are also developed and put in place as part of the Laboratory Quality Management System.

In addition we conduct proficiency testing of personnel / systems, perform laboratory and site audits, and authorise personnel to perform tests and inspections which are essential to maintain an Accredited Laboratory.

Level 3 personnel are members on committees and boards which include Standards Australia, NATA, AINDT and WTIA including Certification Committees.
